Hello Friends!

We created this site to share events for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and anyone who has interest in learning more about ASL and Deaf Culture. We have seen a need for a group like this in our area and a large need for kid and family friendly activities.  We have also noticed a lack of inclusion for the Deaf community in our area.  We originally started out as creating just a social group that could get together and bring the community together.  What we realized once we got started was that there is a much greater mission for us.  We have been working hard to make more areas aware of the need for inclusion for the Deaf Community and make more events accessible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Consumers.

This is something Reggie has always been passionate about. Growing up in a Deaf family he did not see a lot of events that were for the entire family or that he and his siblings could attend and enjoy. The events were mostly directed at the adults. He also noticed that not a lot of hearing children and families would attend. He is determined to bridge that gap between the two worlds.

Andrea is a Sign Language Interpretation Student at SWIC and noticed that a lot of the events we attend are no voice or signing only and it can be very intimidating for people who are learning to sign, or hearing people who don't know any sign, but are interested in supporting the community.  Her son, who is loving learning sign language with mom, gets overwhelmed at the events we go to because it is all adults and he would love to spend more time with kids.

So, we combined our passions and the needs of the community and decided to come up with this group. We would love to meet you all and make this an amazing group. Our goal is to host social meetups every week. Every other Friday evening will be a game night with snacks, and every other Saturday will be during the day with something fun planned. We have reached out to different places to plan more events that they will allow us to have a Deaf consumers day and will be interpreted. We will also share other groups events that may be of interest. They may not be kid friendly but there will be a lot going on.  So, make sure to follow us on Facebook and join our google calendar.  We would love to show our rural communities that there is a need for access and inclusion for the Deaf Community.

Our Mission

To unite the Deaf and Hearing world by creating an environment where both communities can come together and thrive.  To bridge the gap between the two worlds by eliminating barriers, increasing accessibility, and bringing awareness to the need for inclusion.

Our Vision

To provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere for both Deaf and Hearing Communities to unite and work together to eliminate barriers in the Deaf Community.  We will focus our efforts on meeting those needs by providing access to the Deaf and HoH families that are not readily available.

To accomplish this goal we will:

-Plan and schedule events for the two communities to come together and learn from each other.

-Provide education to the Hearing Community about Deaf Culture and History.

-Encourage the use of, or learning of, ASL.

-Educate local businesses and organizations on how to provide more open access to the Deaf Community.

-Provide interpreting services to events and/or organizations that are interested in providing open access to the Deaf Community.

-Provide information to Deaf Community’s younger generation about career opportunities.
